THE QUILCENE FAIR AND PARADE REMAINS A GO FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 WITH SEVERAL MODIFICATIONS TAKEN IN RESPONSE TO COVID CONCERNS
Several modifications have been made to the Quilcene Fair and Parade in response to recent Covid concerns. Everything will be outdoors with sufficient spacing to address safety concerns. The Arts and Crafts Show and the Quilcene Brinnon Garden Club Contests will be outside in a tent instead of the Exhibit Hall. The planting activity for kids will be in a take home kit. As previously announced, Garden Show contest entries for the Best Flower Arrangement and Weirdest Vegetable need to be dropped off in the Quilcene School Gym between 4 and 7 p.m. on Friday, September 17. Arts and Crafts Show entries should be delivered there also, during the same time period. Voting in the Car Show People’s Choice categories shall be via your phone eliminating use of shared pens/pencils.
The numerous activities that were planed for kids are canceled to limit close proximity and contact. The school grounds allow ample area for spacing of vendors and allow enjoyment of live music without crowding.
Extra sanitation facilities are planned for and there will be free PPE and masks. All CDC guidelines and Jefferson County regulations will be followed. We encourage vaccination and mask wearing, especially masks for children too young to be vaccinated.
The above modifications and recommendations are made after thoughtful consideration and in respectful consideration of our community. Please check back for updates or Jefferson County regulation changes.
